Decent little spot. Clean and kept. Fish tacos in two different styles. The Baja (fried) fish tacos were pretty good, although the fish was a little dry.
MoreConsistently great tasting food, big portions and never greasy. My go to spot when I'm cruising through Leucadia. Remember, they are closed on Mondays! Gotta give them a try!
MoreHonestly I’ve been coming here since I was a kid I use to live down the street hit beacons beach and after of course get a carne asada burrito and an horchata. But they changed a lot of the quality of food I admit flavor is good. But they lost that authentic touch they use to have and now they worry more about quantity then quality. The Fourth time last past few months getting a carne asada burrito or Cali burrito and it was just poorly prepped. Full of fries like a spoon full of meat and my wife had a fish burrito was just a bad experience. I admit also the staff is friendly especially the owner with her colored eyes nice lady. But I think I will throw in the towel and just not go back again. Thank you for the good times and food Karinas!!! Time for some Juanita’s!
MoreExcellent food and the friendliest of family service from the crew there. There are significant standouts for this outpost of excellent food on the North Coast. Certainly among them is the Birria de Chivo, which you can get as a plate or a fantastic, savory burrito. For breakfast, the uncommon Poblano Burrito is roasted peppers, egg, two cheeses, and chunks of avocado! The house salsas are fresh, and live: the green is acidic and somewhat mild compared to the picante red.The more standard San Diego fare, rolled tacos with guacamole, carne asada burrito, California burrito, are all excellent. The coctel compechana is worthy of one of our coastal sit-down restaurants.Best of all, is what I mentioned first: this is a local restaurant, with local people who are friendly and cheerful and care about producing fantastic food.On behalf of the whole crew at Leucadia Cyclery, we love Karina's!
MoreI really loved the California Burrito.Note: it does not come with guacamole. Add guacamole and it still costs less than $10 for a great burrito.
MoreAwesome burritos. Carnitas is better than at nearby Kotija's or Juanita's IMO.
Great food with quality ingredients and fabulous service at a good price, you can't beat it.
MoreTop 3 taco shops in Encinitas
This was such a cute find and out of the world fish tacos. Best fish tacos I have eaten.
MoreVery good food. Especially for the price. Indoor and outdoor seating. Lots of food options. Small local place. And the staff are very nice. Definitely recommend.
MoreBomb place, bomb burritos, literally, and fast service
Bomb burrito 💣 you won't regret it try it
Excellent place to stop.
California Bomb Burrito is the best.
One of my favorite places for Mexican food ever since I've been a kid!
Friendly staff and good food
Great food super friendly staff
Fries here are really good! They stay crispy! I got the carne asada fries and bomb burrito, also tried a bite of some other burritos. Bomb burrito was good, but nothing remarkable other than it's uniqueness, flavors were alright. I think their calimania, or something like that is better, but it's also more expensive. The asada fries were really good, what made it outstanding wasn't he fries, staid crispy outside and soft inside. Their guacamole stands out more so as well. I would say definitely within top 3 asada fries I've had. There's free street parking, wasn't too difficult to find one. Start looking about a block or two before getting there, otherwise you'll have to double-back to find parking if there's none immediately in front of the store.
MoreA classic Leucadia institution known for its California burrito, carne asada but also a selection of seafood- based dishes like shrimp cocktail, fish soup and seafood stew. Friendly kitchen staff and fair prices. The fish tacos are rumored to be better at the taco shop a few doors down ( Kotija's), though I found the ones at Karina's just fine. This is the first stop my son who grew up here makes when coming back to San Diego, says there are no equivalent in LA, so there you go!
MoreAwesome place! ❤️
After 18 years I came back to Karina’s to get my Shrimp Quesadilla.Bring me a lot of memories this lovely place 😍😎
MoreGood taste, kindly service, reasonable price..
Down home Mexican boarder food. Great food and service. Patio front and back. Short hours.
MoreAmazing breakfast burritos and very clean inside. Great location and it's also very reasonable in price. Cash only so bring some with you
MoreWe had high hopes but were a little disappointed. The chips and refried beans were great, but it was all downhill from there. The chicken taco was stuffed full of lettuce, cheese and tomatoes, but the chicken was incredibly bland. The burrito was small. The carne asada taco was good, especially topped with black beans and guacamole. We were not given any napkins and no salsa. It appeared that this is a big locals place, as everyone else seemed to know the ropes. I'm not sure any of us would eat here again. It wasn't bad by any means, but there was nothing to keep me coming back.
MoreDelicious food!!!Great services is well
Great food at affordable prices
Great bang for Buck. Huge servings. Burritos are massive and generously packed. California burrito is solid. The green and red salsas are delicious and complement the burrito very well. The red one seems a bit spicier than the green one. The line and the wait can be long here if you done during lunch time. Ample seating availability, with outdoor seating in the front and in the back under shade, and several tables inside. The staff is courteous and professional. I recommend.
MoreI hadn't been here in a long time and stopped in for a bomb burrito (if you don't know, it has carne asada, rolled tacos, cheese, sour cream and guacamole). The horchata here is really good and the staff is friendly. I noticed they also accept credit cards (last time was cash only if I recall correctly). In any case glad to see this place is still around and doing well and I'll be back for sure.
MoreKarinas is so amazing! I have heard of this place by many people and drove past it so many times! I was in the local area and hungry for lunch so thougnt i would stop by and get what everyone tells me i nees to try which is the bomb burrito and let me tell you it is the bomb! Everything i could have asked for! This burrito is a one of a kind and super highly recommend you to try it. Its already an amazing cali burrito but with three rolles tacos in it!!!!
MoreGreat Food, get there early, they get long lines.
Love the food... excellent service.. 🕺💯
Super good, boom burrito
I Love this place ! Come here every trip to the area. Some of the best food I have ever eaten.
MoreSmall dining room, but the friendly service and great food are why you go!
Hands down the best Baja Fish Tacos I have ever had.
Sausage breakfast burrito with guacamole was great! Also the Supreme burrito was another amazing go to if you're looking for breakfast burritos you can't pass up.
MoreBomb burrito! Carne asada burrito with crispy taquitos inside. Nuff said wait there's more la gringa adobada quesadilla with pineapple inside!
MoreBest taco shop in Leucadia and Encinitas. The real deal and Elizabeth and Rosie are the sweetest peeps!
MoreFood is really good, super kind and friendly
Tostada ceviche with avocado is excellent
California fish tacos!!
Good spot for authentic Mexican food in Leucadia. Quite a large and diverse menu, and the staff were all very friendly.
MoreBest taco shop in town!! You have come and try literally everything, it’s all amazing. I die over their Cali burrito or the bomb burrito or the carne asada fríes! Definitely check this place out if you’re stopping by and looking for some real authentic Mexican food
MoreFood is great and clean
Back in the day, I used to pick a taco shop on a given day based on a number of factors. Typically, I'd go to Rudy's for the meat, I'd go to juanitas for the convenience, and I'd go to Karinas if I wanted to eat a burrito that was twice as large as any other option. The bomb burritos are insanely big and gluttonous, but sometimes you gotta do what you gotta do.
MoreDiablo shrimp burrito!!! Get it. It's insanely spicy so buyer beware but it's great. Don't take it to go, it's pretty goopy so it makes the tortilla soggy if you don't eat it quickly. All their other seafood items are great though but I can't take a trip to SD without eating one of these.
MoreBest Cali and carne asada in San Diego
It is tradition to go to Katina's taco shop. Amazing food.
This is what I got today for 10.00
